Rear strut replacement
Well it's been about two months,,time to replace another thing on my rx... This time it's the rear struts.... I've found sensan online for $150 pair shipped...Monroe run $250 shipped and the KYB? Run $300 shipped...I've read I'll need oe strut mounts and rear sway bar links as well more then likely... Anything else I should be ordering??? Does anyone know if highlander oem strut mounts will also work?? Anyone know part numbers by chance??
Cheers

You can get KYB cheaper than 300 for the rear. I bought my KYB set of 4 for a little over 400 from ebay. I have heard that oem mounts are the way to go but I love the better ride of the kyb mounts. If you go to their website they will have part numbers there as well.

Its hard to describe.. but I totally notice a difference in ride quality from when the factory ones were new, and the turning feels "different". Aside from the struts the only other thing that was changed that would affect turning was the mounts but who knows. I got them at a steal of a price so maybe its just me lol.

where im really taking it is that most these sources are american..and im in canada.. so shipping in a bit pricey.....
my mechanic said for me to look for "loaded" struts, but everywhere that i see them they dont come with the springs on them... do they even come this way... i assume the springs are fine and he is just trying to make it easier....
did you have to replace the rear sway bar links at the sametime?? i ask because i normally just order all my parts first off the online sources and then have him replace everything i ordered...

Cheapest so far inside canada...which at least doesnt risk the customs holding/taxing them...
is $300.... for the struts and about $130 for both mounts.... i cant link to them cause it kills the link,,, seems high compared to what you guys are paying south of the border.

Try ordering from an ebay store and calling them to ask about shipping charges. Sounds like your mechanic is trying to take the lazy way out. All you should need to replace is the struts and mounts. Get underneath the car and visually inspect other parts to see if there are any other parts that need to be replaced.
