I had a smilar problem actually. When I Tried to close the lid it would not close and I had to either slam it shut or force it. I took a look at everything and realized the little black ring was off centered. I moved it back in the middle and it works fine now. If u look at the black latch that teh door would latch on to u will see a black ring thing around it too and if its off centered like mine was then jsut move it in teh middle and youll be fine. If thats not the problem than sorry but I think this is some what a common problem.

Try closing it by pushing the center, right on/over the lock.

Go ahead...try it.

I mean...like, right now.

Go on.

Let us know how it works.

I just tried adjusting the black ring on the black metal ring that the glovebox attaches to when closed. It definitely helps. Thanks for the info.

Mine is kinda tough too...but I just put my hand in the dead middle and give it a nice hard SLAM, and it stays shut. I think is a bit harder than other cars, but not necessarily broken or screwed up.

It also works best if you close it like Paddy suggested, right over the lock - just to the right of the handle. That's the way I always do it and it closes easiest like that.
