I was out shopping and happen to go past local Toyota dealer. They had just gotten in two of the new 4-runners. Sat in the one on the showroom floor a SR5 model. I am 6'2". I have plenty of headroom in my RX. The Toyota, which is supposed to be bigger all around had very little head room. I had the seat down as far as it could go but my hair was touching the roof (had a sun roof). It felt cramped to me and the SR5 model was very "Cheap" looking. Couldn't get close to the Limited model. My point to all of this is, what about the new Lexus GX. If it mirrors the Toyota in dimensions, then Lexus is making a big mistake. If the GX is supposed to compete with the likes of the BMW X5 as far as interior room, they will lose (our other suv is an X5). Lets hope the GX is at least taller then the 4-runner.

 

I have sat in a GX, I'm 6'0" and the top is not anywhere near my head.

 

Didn't realize the GX was out already. I read where they sould show up in December. They do appear to look "taller" then the Toyota 4-runner

 

No, the GX is not out yet but I had an opportunity several months ago to be selected in a Lexus marketing focus group. Actually touched, sat, and did just about everything except to start the engine on the GX470 and the RX330.
