Tint Question
I would like to know what would happen if you tint your windows with a black film instead of mirrored? I personally do not like the mirror tint and prefer dark black.

What if?
What if you put the black film on the rear windows as they are? Without removing the mirror tint. I also believe the mirror tint can't be removed.
Has anyone ever seen this?

I have seen an RX with the front windows tinted black and the back with the factory mirror and what looked to be a black tint over it (covering from the inside, of coruse). It looked horrible.
The factory tint is not removeable. The glass is tinted from the factor and is not a film that is place on the glass.

These are pics from delivery, i had the dealer tinted mine before i took the car. Since its a Lexus dealer, they knew what they were doing. Mine is not a mirror tint, but its a brownish/gold type which matches mine well, i think. The back windows are tinted over with the same tint and i have to say because i wanted NON-SEE-THRU, they match perfectly. Notice i also tinted the front windshield, which i highly recommend, gone are the days of others seeing me getting a bj now=) U will also be surprised how well i see out of these things at night. Tint technology has come a long way these days. I have no idea what % or name of tint i have, but i know its 3M. Hope this helps.

i live in SoCal too, i get an average of 1 ticket every 3 years, correctable ones for my tint there. I havnt tried the windshield one in L.A, but people in walnut and rowland heights are doing it with good results. I highly recommend it. I dont know if its illegal but for me its worth the hassal. I like my VIP look.

if you add mirror tint on top of thr factory mirror in the back it fades out some of the mirror, i out 20% mirror on the front and the same type but i think around %30 on the back, the mirror is still there but alot less obvious, here is example...
