Doing a little research on 2000 RX300. I have been shopping for a month or so to replace my current vehicle (2006 Honda Ridgeline). Love the truck, just not the note. Spending $400/month for a vehicle to sit in the a hospital parking lot 5days/week. Found 2000 1st gen with 112K miles with clean CarFax and 2 previous owners. Going to look at tomorrow and test drive. What do I need to look out for? Just want a reliable, safe, comfortable vehicle. From what I have read, this might be the vehicle for me. Any info greatly appreciated. Does $7900 sound about right? Seems to be KBB mid trade in value. Tell me what you all think.
Look at the fluid in the transmission and make sure it's been changed previously and that t it has been maintained.
Besides that nothing much to look out for, except maybe sludge. But, I doubt it.
These car's are extremely reliable when they are taken care of, I've put 70k miles on mine since I bought it in a span of 5 years and I've had no unexpected repairs. (meaning, I've only replaced wear and tear items, such as oil, tires, brakes, etc.)
I just bought my 1999 RX300 for winter time, keep in mind i am a car dealer and get good deals. I came across mine, had 112k, now has 130k, no issues. I always hear about the transmission failing which scares me, but its hard to let go. Its such an amazing car.
