Default Smell from A/C Vent.

Hi, Lex friends,

I got a nontechnical problem: the venting air from my RX's a/c smells no good (more obvious right after I turn on the a/c), do you guys have some idea how to clean it and make fresh cool air? Just change the cabin filter? Thanks.

Make sure you buy a filter with activated charcoal... the OEM filter has it.

You can also set the temp to HOT and run for 5-10 minuets to burn off any mold.

The other thing you can do, is to shut off ac 5 minutes before you turn off the RX and just used the blower to run. This will dispel the air in the heat-exchanger.

How is the a/c drain? Ob humid days, the ac condensate is like a slow stream in RX.

Salim,

Thanks. Will try the few things you mentioned. BTW, for the a/c drain, do you mean the small pipe which exits the passenger side floor? If yes, I think mine is fine, I can see water dripping out, but don't know how fast it should be, never cleaned it.
