i should have taken more pics of the rx before i painted it. the stock lower color was all scratched and the front and rear bumpers were messed up. but hey i only paid 500 bucks for it.

When I had my white 01 I very seriously thought about having the undercladding done in zebra wrap. I actually checked into the cost and that's when I decided to leave it alone, 1100 bucks! I could have had it painted body color for that!

One of my motorcycles is flat black... It's actually metallic-like flat black, similar to Teflon and doesn't look bad when it's dirty. It's not my favorite color, but it was the right bike. Will it stay looking good? What's under the paint is what matters. On the other hand, after being rear-ended several years ago in the RX, I paid the body shop a little extra to have all of the lower panels and bumpers painted Millenium Silver to match the upper body, monochrome.
Not that I'm knocking your schizo Road Warrior meets Rodeo Drive look (which is cool that it's unique), I think the mono color is the way it should have come from the factory instead of the Mabelline colors (think RX300 Silversport). So now that yours is flat black below (will it perform like primer?) and white above, how hard would it be to paint the lower all white to match? I think you'd have the only all-white one, and it would look good, too. White's an easy color to match for touch-ups, too.

I have the same cream color, and it unfortunately is a 3-stage (base coat, top coat, clearcoat) process that I find impossible to get a good hand touchup match with. My mother's Lexus is silver metalic and that is easy to touch up. The grey 2-stage bottom cladding also touches up well.

It might look pretty sick.. if you did the top to match now.... throw some 20" blacks on it.......... i seen a toyota FJ cruiser that was repainted all flat black on some 22" blacks and it was a big job considering the white roof etc.. but its the nicest FJ ive seen.....they are goofy looking cars....
