The standard stereo in the rx has 7 speakers and a factory amp. If i change the 4 door 6 1/2" door speakers, and disconnect the wire going to the small sub woofer under the passenger seat, can i then reconnect the sub lead to a 10" subwoffer in a sub box, Will the factory amp power that sub sufficiently for better bass, i am older and do not want "getto shake" from the sub?
you CAN use that sub out from the amp to power something small....but be warned it wont be much of anything unless you have a very efficient sub in the trunk...I dont like THUMP THUMP music but I ended up using a Line out converter for my small 8 inch sub in the trunk to round out my music
thanks for the responses, i think the installer took the line out to the factory subwoofer and plugged that already amped signal to my new 300w alpine mono amp for the new 10" sub in the back.
The problem is the 4 door speakers are now weak and the sub is way too thumpy at even minus 5 setting on the radio. Looking for a balance solution??? thanks D
