Default tire size

I am getting a good deal on 225-75-16 tires while the stock size is 225-70-16. Other than being a little taller does it really matter? It might throw speedometer a little off. Is the handling going to be effected or can It cause damage to any suspestion components? Thanks.

I'd be worried about the extra load on the transmission. What year is your RX?

Its 99 with 142k miles on it. I am not sure how it would put extra load in the transmission and have significant adverse effect. Doesn't driving uphill or having extra passengers in the car also put load on the transmission and engine?

I dont think its going to make a big enough difference to do anything to the tranny. The speedo on the RX is a little off anyways so it will make it more accurate from what I have read. Im running 255-55-18s on RX330 18s on my 2002 RX300 without any issues and I asked Lexus about it before hand and they said its a very small change.

That is true, It wouldn't be a big difference on the transmission.
