Throttle Problems
I was having the common hesitation at low RPM's between 0-20mph. The car was kind of jumping/jerking then once the car hit higher RPM's everything smoothed out. I read on the forums to adjust the throttle cable and I did that and my results are NOT GOOD. The car was doing better in the beginning but is now jerking at almost all speeds and the conditions have worstened. I turned the 12mm nuts to the left and the car was a little better. Now I basically have them back to normal specs and the problem is worse than started. I need help or advice A.S.A.P. Thanks in advance.
The hesitation you were having at first could be that you need to clean the IACV and throttle body, clean /replace air filter. As suggested by Salimshah, you may have to take out your injector nozzles for cleaning, check plugs if ok, if not replace with right spec and that will solve the problem.
I had the spark plugs changed out..new air filter, fuel filter, and the problem is still here. I'm having someone look at it tomorrow. I've already put in premium 93 gas (full tank) and even bought the SUV fuel injector cleaner that was available at the pump.
You did not mention CEL/codes. Does it even turn on when to move the key from ACC-> run ... just before start?
Any known history or even lack of history?
What you undertook was a shotgun approach ... which at times cures the problem but does not necessarily debug logically. [it does eliminate few things though].
Fuel filter was a stretch [I would have let the mechanic put a gauge to measure pressure and flow]. Also at higher rpm ... most fuel demand ... your RX is good.
If it is rough idle, then IACV may need cleaning. Erratic rpm can also be due to vacuum problem [hose under the air filter box is pretty famous trouble spot]. TPS can also be acting up.
Let us know what the diagnosis was/is.
