Car won't idle some times - any ideas?

 

Search IACV. That is the most likely culprit.

I had the same problem - it would start but then die at idle. It turned out to be the intake chamber/throttle body was dirty. I'm new to this forum so this may be explained in more detail somewhere already. It's a pretty easy DIY fix - disconnect the air filter and the air intake tube that goes to the throttle body, spray some throttle plate cleaner in and around the throttle plates (don't use anything that leaves a residue) wipe out the dirt with a lint-free cloth, and put it all back together. I read that this is common problem with this model (mine is 2001), and its a good idea to clean it every year or so.
