Default Electrical Issue

New problem:

Suddenly the following has occurred:

Radio will not work
Navigation does not work
Nav and radio buttons do not work
Screen stuck on fuel consumption, numbers are blank
When adjusting cabin temp in auto mode, outside and inside temp setting is not displayed

I have shut down vehicle and restarted once with no luck. Will check fuses on lunch break. Any other ideas?

Well, checked the fuses in the engine comp behind the battery and the one behind the coin holder under the mirror adjustment.

I'm going to disconnect the negative terminal for a few hours. Anyone know of other fuse locations?

On the non nav car there are two fuses Radio 1 and Radio 2 and Dome light fuse. All three supply power to the Radio, display etc. I would search those three fuses and check for voltage across them. Other than that Has the CD changer, Center console been messed with recently? Maybe you have a loose plug... update: I found electrical info on other Lexus site. The dome and Radio #1 fuse are in the engine compartment, the Radio #2 fuse in the driver fuse compartment under the dash. I would at least check across the fuses to see if 12 volts is present.

Thanks Thomas,

Those fuses are all good, I'll check for 12V tomorrow. I did install new HVAC servos which required removing the glove box but that was around January. I also removed the Gen 2 Navigation ECU that was broke and replaced it with a Gen 4 ECU in July. However that shouldn't have anything to do with the radio or the buttons below the screen. I did notice that I am unable to eject the disk from the Nav ECU in the trunk.

I drove this home last night in heavy rain. It sat overnight in the garage and this happened....Like a light switch.

Could you have disturbed the wiring from the CD player in behind the glove box to the Radio.....????Maybe a plug came undone or partly unplugged.

I checked the voltage at the fuses, checked the connections, and still nothing. Took it on a 3 hour drive the other day and after about 2 hours, everything started to work and has so since then.

Loose connection is the most likely suspect [provided every thing was working fine once]. Blown fuse would lead to dead circuit.

Did you disconnect a gnd strap?
