Default First Post: Engine Cranks; Won't Fire.

I'm new to the forum and looking for help.
I have a 2002 RX300 with 60,000 miles on it. Ran perfectly until I parked it in the garage for 10-days and went on vacation. When I came back yesterday it would not start. Cranks over quickly but won't fire off. After a few minutes of cranking I could smell gas. Tried the backup key to see if the security system was the problem, but no luck. Verified that the blinking Security light goes off when the key is inserted. Charged battery overnight and tried again this morning, with same results. It sounds like it wants to fire occasionally (maybe once every 5-sec of cranking), but never catches. Can't figure out what would have changed while it sat in the garage. Lights, horn, power seats all work, so the battery has plenty of juice. Any ideas would be appreciated.

try pressing the gas pedal at the same time, and see if it then starts. If it does,it could be your iac valve.

It worked! I opened the gas about 1/4-way and it started. The idle was rough, but smoothed out soon. I guess that means I need to clean the IACV. You guys are great!! Thanks so much.
