Art- I have seen some highway robbery at Lexus dealers in pricing, but I think that takes the cake. Just exactly how much profit do they have to make before it's called totally obscene? I think they have arrived. Next thing you know, the thieves won't steal the car, just all the lug nuts, and it'll total it out. No Pick-A-Parts around you? Have any neighbors around you that have Lexus? Maybe they wouldn't notice if you borrowed about 4 on the long term plan- JK!

The prices I quoted were from Toyota dealers, not Lexus. The Advance Auto did have captive washers but the finish looked more like metallic gray instead of OEM silver chrome. Other than the finish, they looked ok at $3.99 per. I drove a half mile to the Toyota dealer that lists them for $9.67 per. After talking with him about my experience with the wheel locks, he said "You deserve my wholesale price" and sold them to me for $7.20 per. There is an on-line discount Toyota dealer in Texas which sells them for $5.63 but with shipping they come out pretty close to $7.20. The on-line aftermarket which advertised at $1.66 was selling only the shorts and no longs in stock. Struck me as being a typical bait and switch operation.

I have no idea what kind of tool it was, but it must have had some reverse teething to the socket or something. Anyway, when the locking nut on my RX broke off, I brought it over to the local Honda/Acura guy that I bring my Integra to and he took out what looked like a large socket. He put it onto his pneum. gun, turned it a little, then fired away and it rolled it right off. No charge for me.

I then went and replace all four with regular matching lugs. My car is garaged from home to work, who's going to steel my wheels in my garage and at work?
