Default Flashing CEL P0303

Hey guys, haven't been on for awhile now. Good to see the forums still running strong. Well my CEL came on today on the way to work. Engine has loss of power on acceleration but seems to be fine when up to normal driving speed (40mph). Engine knocks and shakes at idle and on low RPM. The CEL was flashing so I decided to take it back home. ODB scanner read P0303. Cylinder 3 misfires. I was hoping it was the top row but it looks the back row of cylinders
How do I approach the situation. As much as possibly I'd rather do this myself. I'm hoping it's just a spark plug I need to replace. What else would cause this and what should I check 1st?

Ah well I just answered my own question. After sweating in 90 degree weather for an hour I decided to squeeze my hand in and remove coil 3 and switch it with the coil in cylinder 1. Started the engine and it felt exactly the same with the knocking and shaking. Resetted the OBD and got an P0301. So looks like the coil. Thank god it wasnt the plug as I had a hard enough time trying to get the coil out of cylinder 3 in the 1st place.

Good to hear from you.

Just recently I had similar problem.

Plugs have a life of 120k miles. I replaced mine at 140+.

Since I was replacing plugs, I just stuffed the plug in the coil pack and grounded the body. When the assistant cranked the engine there was no spark.

I would only suggest Toyota/Lexus. It will set you back about $80+ but these babies do not need to be replaced frequently. The ones near firewall [odd #] are a bit of pain to get to [really not that bad], so why gamble.

I was charged $90 to get it delivered to me. OEM Denso 90080-91096 i believe. The originals were 90919 02234 but those were replaced by the part number I have listed above. I tried Kragen, AutoZone, and Napa and none of them carried it. Had to go straight to the Toyota dealer.
