Water in blower cavity froze - Stopping blower
Well it was extremely cold here this morning. (my other vehicle said -27F) My wife drove her RX300 in, but she had no heat! She was a trooper, didnt want to turn around and go back home.
I took it into the shop, and they said that the blower quit working because the cavity was filled up with water and it froze. This prevented the blower from spinning. They dried it out, and put it all back together and it now works fine.
I know the engine compartment was steam cleaned before I bought it, but I dont think that would do it. I have not had the windshield or anything else replaced.
Any ideas why that would have filled up with water or where to start looking?

First assumption is that you are not leaking coolant (additional assumption is that your coolant has antifreez in it).
The expansion valve (used during A/C cold cycle) will cause condensation in there. There is tube which should drain out the condensate. Assuming that condensate was unable to drain out ... it will freeze at 0c (as it is pure water + dust/dirt/grime).
I would get a small dia shrink tube (from hobby shop) 1 meter long and feed it through the drain pipe (you may have to crawl under the RX) and then blow through mouth... Using compressed air is a bad idea as it can create enough pressure to disconnect tubing.
Do a search on "water in foot well area".
There may be other reasons too.

Thanks for the info. I have no fluid leaking on the RX, and no water in the cab. I did some searching on the forum, but didnt find anything. I will try cleaning that out, hopefully that will solve it. Thanks!!
