My 2002 Rx300 just hit 160k and going strong. I had to replace the shocks & struts though. Nothing else has been trouble so far. The ride is still very nice.

Welcome to Club Lexus!

Glad to hear your RX has been trouble-free. Not surprising, it's a Toyota after-all!

Default 225,000 and going strong!

Just passed 225,000 on my '99 RX (took photo to brag). Nothing fancy, Quaker State conventional every 5,000 miles, Quaker State conventional ATF drain/refill every 15,000 and Toyota coolant drain/refill every 50,000 miles. Went in service 15 years ago today, 6/14/1998. Running exactly 15k per year and my goal is 20 years and 300k. I'm 3/4's of the way home.

I have a 2001 RX-300 with 135K and it runs like a top. Have not had the timing belt changed yet. How much will that run? Any idea?

Thanks for the info and advice!

Welcome to the Club.

Generally with parts and labor, you're looking close to $1000 for that (and that includes the water pump, too), though you can probably get it done for a few hundred less if you look around with independents.

Hey Stemmer, is your "P" light out, or were you in D when you look the photo?

I've got 186k on my 2002, and with proper maintenance, I'm sure it can get over 300k.

Hi Dan - the P light has been out for a few years. It does not bother me in the least since all the other lights work so I know when I'm in drive. And a while back I had a rear marker light out that I could not figure out and I forget why, but I was getting a periodic check engine for some problem and I was getting bummed out with those two light and a low gas light at times making it look like my RX was collapsing with all those dashboard lights. I suppose it's weird, but for that reason I like my "clean" dash with no lights and would probably pass on even a free fix. A dumb story but true.

Default 2000 rx300

we have 158,000 miles on our RX 300. It has had regular oil changes and maintenance. I expect it to go well over 200,000.

Just hit 170k....trans went out about 3000 miles ago. Shelled out 6 grand for Lexus to do a full timing belt job and new trans. I expect the car to hit 300k easy now. We shall see

I am hoping at least that or more. 300k would be ideal. Time will tell

If you take good care of your RX, it should get you well over 200k. Not sure which island you are on, but I'm sure you won't be making and really long trips. Use a good synthetic motor oil/filter and regularly change out the trans fluid and a new trans filter every 30k. I've owned my 01 FWD since it was new and have 230k now with original engine and trans. Best, most trustworthy vehicle I've ever owned. I'm working on 300k!
