Default longevity/reliability question

Hi folks, newbie here. Bought a friend's 2000 Rx300 with 85K miles a couple of weeks ago and I am really enjoying the quietness, thoughful layout of controls, large sunroof, good lumbar support, good visibility etc. But in reading the posts now I am wondering if I am heading into a huge expense within the next 30K miles or so. One guy raved about having 250K miles, but he replaced the engine for heaven's sake. What I am wondering is whether most folks are getting 200-300K miles without serious troubles and just quietly not posting? What is the longevity "out there"?

Transmission, tranny, tranny, make sure you maintain it if it is AWD. At that mileage dont flush, just do drain and fills every 15k miles.....And make sure it is Toyota Type IV or Amsoil equivalent.....

I’ve seen plenty out there for sale with around 200K miles but I have yet to see one with 300K (with original engine). I think this is not a fair comparison to use for the RX as most owners don’t use the vehicle for highway driving, rather mostly city. The LS400 on the other hand tend to be bought by folks that drive mainly on the highway (which is why I bought mine) and therefore you are more likely to see 300K + miles on those vehicles.

I have a little over 124,000 on my '99 RX300.
Going to keep on driving it.

I know this is a RX site, but I have a friend who drove his first Chevrolet Surburban he bought new for 330,000 plus miles before buying his second one. If you saw it you wouldn't believe it had that many miles. Looked more like 30,000.

I have a 102k on my 2002 with absolutely no problems.

I have an awd and today I changed the front and rear diff with amsoil gear oil. I still need to change the sparkplugs. They have never been changed yet.

Mine is 2001 AWD with 170k+ on it now. When temp gets lower, idle rougher& suspension harsher. And AC mix servo quit yesterday. So far so good.
