Do you hear this shrill on the road at all?
hahah yes. when i go above 2.5 to 3 RPM. so when im on the freeway i accelerate really slow. and im adding a new Y-pipe and a small resonator rgiht after the magnaflow muffler on wed. so i dont know if thats going to get rid of the shrill because i really dont want to waste money on buying a bigger muffler.

I recalled something else. Back in September 2005, I ran (for one night), a setup with a glasspack as my resonator and my current Arvin muffler. I can also recall (though not as high pitched) a tinny sound similar to a whistle, but with more rasp. The next day went back to exhaust shop and got that Sankei resonator off of an Accord that I show on page 3 of my Car Domain page and that did the job.

instead of putting a resonator and new Y pipe you can put a magnaflow muffler like this.
it also cost less then $100.

i already have a magnaflow muffler. ill take some pics and post up later. and they Y-pipe is being installed because the right exhaust pipe nothing is coming out of it. all the air flow and sound is coming from the left one.

Hm, if you have no room for the mufflers then first thing is first. Replace with a Magnaflow resonator

http://www.hottexhaust.com/search_re...2&txtCatName=2

And see if you have enough room after a small/medium sized resonator to add a Magnaflow muffler with one inlet and dual outlet, then connect to rest of piping.

Bloo, If you wanna meet up sometime I'd be more than willing to, except I cannot do Saturdays because I work every Saturday. I'll let you hear what my exhaust sounds like and you can let me hear yours.

do you really have to get a resonator? i just used a regular magnaflow muffler to replace my stock resonator and another magnaflow muffler to replace my stock muffler? both of the magnaflow mufflers are straightflow design.

is there a big difference between a magnafow muffler and resonator?

The terms are often interchanged along with the equipment.

The resonator in my case is used to refer to the sound-reducing device before the last muffler on the end of the vehicle. My next resonator will be in essence a Flowmaster muffler

Depends on the design. Flowmaster's tend to be smaller in size but more restrictive (not direct flow) unlike Magnaflows.
