From reading on the auto-rx website, Auto-Rx works differently by slowly dissolving engine deposits. The other flushes are a harsher chemical method. Auto-rx is actually an organic compound that is non toxic. You can probably find the MSDS and see what it actually is.

Hello, I am planning to dump 6oz. of AutoRX into the transmission soon (hoping it works wonders on tranny's as it does engines). I was wondering if anyone has done this before and if so what were your results? Thanks.

Everything is clean again. But what concerns me is,what someone elese has brought up about the sump screen(oil pump inlet) getting clogged.Unfortunatly, the best way to clean the engine,is to dismantle it.mechanics in a can, dont carry an insurance policy.

You should be able to clean that by removing the pan, in fact you should remove the pan and clean it out along with the screen. Am I wrong, anybody? cause I'm planning to do the ARX treatment this weekend...

I think if you run a good synthetic oil,(unless your build up is beyond repair) it should, over time, take care of itself.Or even a good dino HD (high detergent) And using an oversize filter may help too.

Now, in my case where all I have is varnish, should I run the arx stuff or just try something like seafoam or marvel oil? I spoke to Frank from ARX and he told me that for varnish, it works really slow and I need to follow the sludge treatment. Will I hurt my rings or seals by using the ARX, from anyone's experience here?

I used the seafoam for 3000 miles, and I feel a little difference. But I didnt remove a valve cover yet.I figure that time will come soon enough.(ex. knock sensors etc.)Im sure ill have to go in it sooner or later.

I'll give it a try, then with the next change I'll open it up again.

I think it is one of the more safer ways to do it.Maybe not as harsh for the engine. And seafoam has been around for a long time.

Just used two bottles of that stuff, it was really dirty plus the second bottle really hit the spot. Will let you all know how the oil and v-train looks with my next oil change, prob one month from now. Not to hijack this thread... shhhh......

I'll be ordering some A-rx if the inside looks a little disappointing after all.

I dont know about the trans.I would be a little carefull their, just do some drain and refills. That should take care of it. If AWD be sure to drain your front differential too. Then refill with 4.5 qts of toyota fluid,or amsoil. In re; to TampRX,I hope using two bottles of sea foam doesnt thin out your oil viscosity too much.
