Rusted Trans lines !!
I have noticed that my auto trans lines up front at the bottom of the radiator are rusted very badly and was thinking of replacing them before they start to leak. seems strange that it is the only place they are rusted? is there a oem replacment or do you have to get generic lines and bend them to fit?
also what type of trans fluid should be used?

First see if it is surface rust or more by using brass wire brush. If is it is surface then just paint (rust proof) after the rust is removed .
Also investigate why the rust was formed. Road salts and stuck snow is usually the culprit. I have taken my RX to the coast, and the first thing I do when I return is to wash the underside.
Bending pipes and forming leak proof ends can be done but it may be lot easier just buying from Lexus Parts.
Toyota Type IV is the reccomended (and dexron IV is NOT).
