Did you remove the long bars and patched the holes or just removed the cross bars?

Default Ah sooo much better

Roof racks certainly don't make sense functionally, certainly don't hold enough weight to justify, cost extra, and make the care look less sleek. A failed attempt to balance the car, top and bottom with chrome look. Everyone please kindly remove them. Ugg

Unless you're liking the egg/minivan look.. I think roof racks are a necessity, but then most suv drivers are not going off road or doing anything heavy. I have transported a 60" flatpanel, a medium sized shed, and countless trips to IKEA and roof rack is a saver.

I don't know what it's rated for but I would say I've loaded 150 lbs across the cRoss bars

To me a SUV without the rack looks incomplete. Lexus modified the rack to make it more streamlined, and I did not care for that change. Each to his own ....

When I bought my rx300 it came with the roof rack installed. I never used it till my friend got me helping him fix his house. He has a gulf rabbit. He needed to buy a 40 foot ladder, and guess who he called. Lol

You'll never know for what or when u needed it.

Default Looks better WITHOUT roof racks

Just took mine off of my 2001 RX 300. Looks way better to me! My wife's 2013 RX 450h has the rails and no cross bars. Looks good. Now I have to figure out the cheapest way to paint the rails.

I can send the cross bars to anyone who'll just pay postage.
We have a pay it forward sticky. Please post there.
