Hey guys. This weekend i changed my the oil for the first time on the rx and flushed the power steering fluid. Now after I did this, i went for a drive in cold weather, i dont remember if the heater was broken then or not. But i noticed at night time, in -6*F or -20*C weather that the heater was just blowing cold air. The heat seaters still work, and the driver side vent blows kinda hot air. But my feet were freezing in the 15 drive home. Is it possible that i could have broke something during getting the oil filter out?
Thanks
Ohh when putting the heater to blow out the top vents on full, i get no air from the middle vents.
I dont know if this makes sense to anybut, but if you have questions please ask.
Check out this thread from the GS Forum https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...ht=temperature
It sounds like you have a bad air/mix servo that is causing the the air to only come out the top or the feet, not the vents. As far as the cold air we never got a definite answer to the problem in the GS forum so if you find out what the exact problem is that is causing you to get cold air not heated air do us GS owners a favor and let us know by replying to the thread. I hear the cold air problem is more common in the RX...D
Hey thanks for helping, but i drove the car again today, and found out that it seems like it is stuck on the defroster. So i can adjust the defroster speed and temperture which works. But when manually doing just the leg vents or front vents nothing comes out and the defroster is still on max.
hmmm the heater in my old rx300 stopped working and i swear when that happened the AC felt like it got colder. Anyone know a good fix? i just sold my car today to someone i work with, maybe if theres an easy fix i can tell him so he can try and fix it himself.

Yes, for virtually ALL modern vehicles with automatic climate controls you can make the A/C more efficient, sometimes dramatically so, for cooling if you can shut off the flow of hot water to the heater section. Some of the earlier models had a shut-off valve for this but it would only fully close at MAX cooling position.
