Default Engine Check Light is ON. #2,3 Misfire

I have 2000 RX300 with about 110k miles on it.
Suddenly, engine check light is on.
So, I checked it from local autopart shop and they said that #2 and 3 cylinder has a misfire.
I thought it might be a spark plug problem so, I chaged all 6 spark plugs.
However, the light is still on. Nothing has been changed.
The RPM goes around 4~5 when it runs 60mph.
idle is rough and able to smell gas in somewhere in the car.
could be a coil???? or what???
also, How do I figure it out which is the #2 and 3 cylinder.
Please help me......

Would you have the exact OBD diagnostic code or codes? (Begins with a P XXXX)

Thanks !

You have to pull the EFI fuse in the fusebox or just pull off the negative battery cable for a second and put it back on...that will reset the light...usually this type of issue will not reset itself.

#2 cylinder (if you are facing the front of the engine) is in the lower left corner, number 3 is in the rear middle.

A bad coil is obvious and the car would just be chugging along.

Other issue might be a bad injector.

I reset it more than a three times with pulling off the -battery cable.
As soon as I reset it, the light didn't come on. but still have a rough idle.
then a couple sec. later, the light came back on.
So, it might be a coil then....
I heard it costs about $100 per peice...right?
So, #2 is the Passenger side front of the car and #3 is in the middle of the back of the car, right?
Thanks anyway.
I guess it's time to buy the coil and change'em.

Passenger side front of the engine and middle of the back of the engine.

I think when I got mine...about $125. I now keep one extra just in case and still have one we fashioned out of a Camry coil in a pinch.
