Default need owners manual

A friend of mine has a 2000 rx 300 he just bought for his wife. nice ride but they got no owners manuals with it. The dealer they bought it from has said they will get them one but hasnt come through. Does any one have an owners manual they dont need or want anymore? Also theres a button next to the shifter on the left hand side. that theres looks like it missing the cover. we are trying to figure out what it does. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks........Matthew

You can access the Owner's Manual online at lexus.com.
Sign up to use the Owner's area. It requires an e-mail address, name, address, and VIN number. Once you're in, go into "My Lexus" and pull up the manual.

Unfortunately, it's not one single PDF file. Instead, each section of the manual is its own file. So, there are about 40 files. At least they're all pretty small and download quickly.

The button you describe sounds like the shift lock override. If, for whatever reason, the computer won't let you shift out of Park while the brake pedal is depressed, you can pry off the top cover with a screwdriver, and there's a button down there to release the shift lever. The top cover may be missing, and you're seeing the release button.

Default Owners Manual

You see the Lexus Manuals on eBay all the time. From between 10 to 25 dollars. With the leather case.

My RX came without the small plastic cover. Cost me 6 dollars at the dealership. Which I thought was alot for a chiclet gum size piece of plastic. That was until I had a flat key made. The one I carry in my wallet just incase I get locked out. 75 dollars.
