Etch VIN number on the HID ballast with a warning label. Don't park it outside overnight. Have your local Miss Cleo put a curse on it.

Get insurance Seriously though, life is too short to worry about a theft that may or may not happen. Think of all the poor Camry and Accord owners who get their whole car stolen. Chances of getting the lights stolen is there, but you can't let something like that dictate what car you buy. I'm nearing 2 years with my 330 and my lights haven't been touched yet. If your friend is really serious about buying a car that doesn't have any desirable parts to be stolen, tell him/her to buy an old used beater. If its not the lights, it will be the rims, or the emblems, or spoiler and so forth. Or, you can always just get an RX330 with the halogen lights instead of the HID. The halogen lights have near zero desireability so chances of it getting stolen is very low.

Oh,okay. I guess they made a lot of option changes from 04-05. Kind of makes sense though as I always wondered who would opt for the halogen, but to be honest I do see a few of them on the road in my area. Probably all 04 models though.

Connect high voltage eletro probes around headlight taps. Need some large gabbage bags to collect burned bodies though.

Nah, too dangerous. Just install some razor blades around the HID to collect DNA samples.
