Does anyone else experience this on their RX300 AWD.

This is a mild type of effect I used to get with my Pathfinder when I had 4wd engaged and was making a tight turn while accellerating...

Suspect LSD draggin the outside wheel...

Any other theories.

Warranty is over OCT 30/04 and want to get this resolved now if it is in fact not characteristic of the awd drivetrain.

Thanks,
Fern

Could be the center differential. Maybe need fluid change.

or it could just be the known issue with insulation around the transmission lines at about 25mph. (loud whining noise)

Could you please elaborate on this "known issue", ie: TSB?
Where and how to fix?

Thanks,

Fern

I believe the TSIB Rhody401 is referring to is TC002-04 for the first few months of RX330's (TC002-04), related to a whine (vibration) at certain speeds and a muffled "clunk" noise on downshift from 3rd to 2nd.

I haven't looked for RX300 TSIB's, but I had two 300's and I don't recall any trans issues like the 330 has encountered.

My first reaction to this thread was the same as lexusondubs - possibly a power steering problem. The center differential also seems logical.

I was talking about that tsb, and there was discussion on the forums of an issue where it would WHINE (My 2004 330 does it) at 1000-2000 RPMs at about 10-20mph. They claimed the fix was to add/replace some insulation on the transmission cooling lines. Personally, it doesn't bother me, but mine does this too.

What bothers me more:
-The noise from the dashboard (around guages) if you touch the dash or when it expands or contracts due to heat or bumps in the road. (they are fixing this at 5k)
-The way the tranny shifts and hesitates at about 20mph (no fix available yet)
-The sunroof makes a strange noise when opened which I read can be fixed with some lubrication on the rubber.

These are minor. I really love the new car, otherwise
