Post How to Change In-Console Light Bulb

The letter 'D' does not light up on the console where the shifter is. Any advice on how to change the bulb? Thanks for any help!

Lightbulb Screw *****

If you're asking for the RX300, it's as simple as removing the two screws above the main bezel. You have to pull out the two side panels (ignition key housing and seat memory) that connect to the bezel first. These are just held in by snap clips. Be careful though, you may lose one or two clips, but they can be easily recovered with a magnet rod, or buy new ones from Lexus/Toyota.

One the two side panels are removed, the bezel pulls right out with slight angling. Remove the three light wire harnesses and the whole assembly comes out. Once out, you'll see screw caps for where the lights for the gear positions would be. Turn counter to remove, clockwise to install. You can either get a new bulb, or do what I did, use the "1" bulb for the "D" position. They're the same bulb. A new bulb was $8, so I opted to use the "1" because how many times are you going to be in first gear?

Installation is of couse opposite of above.

Hope this helps. If you're wondering about the RX330, then I can say the above is the same, so wait for someone with a 330 to respond.
