Question Cabin Noise

I wanted to kniw if you guys hear the engine alot in you RX300's? Mine shifts not very rough but not very smooth! My SC400 shifted rough until I change tranny filter, fluid and diff oil. Ran super smooth after that. What break bads are you guys using? Wondering if the EBC work on the RX. On hard breaking do you guys rate your RX good or poor.? Oh its a 2001 RX300.

I can only hear it during hard acceleration and cold idle. Otherwise the engine is silent. Not every RX300 is created equal: I test drove an RX300 at the dealer before I bought mine two years ago. That test drive RX300 had a noisy engine and a roaring exhaust. I tried a new one briefly then realized that it's not common, so I bought the RX300.

On hard braking, I would rate the RX300 good. Though you might find other SUVs that stop shorter. Once an Audi A6 and I came to an intersection with a malfunctioned traffic light with only the red light working. When the redlight came on, we both got into panic stop. I could feel the brake assist working and grabbing the brake more. I actually stopped 5 feet short of the white line, the entire Audi passed the white line and had to meekly put it in reverse.

Never had any luck with off-brand brake pads in the past. They either screech or make tons of brake dust. Brake shops always say: "it needs break-in", "they all do that", etc. I will stick with genuine Lexus pads with my RX300 - not a screech or a pinch of dust since the day I bought it.

I had tranny fluid change and diff oil change at 30k. Nothing remarkable. It drives the same.

i drive an RX300 and my father drives the GX470. My god, the GX470 is so hard to break. The RX breaks is soft and requires lil breaking effort. But when I drove the GX470, my legs werent' use to the breaking force for the GX and so somtimes I forget to use more force on the GX and the car kinda slips forward at the stop light.

As to the opposite, when my dad drives my RX300 when i'm in the car. He breaks to hard and i end up jerking my head forward a lot. He says that the RX break is to soft. I dont care what he says, I like the breaking on my RX. Well maybe because i'm use to it.
