RX300 Grinding noise when turn key
Hello, approx every 3 times that I turn my car on, a grinding noise comes from teh area where the key is. Almost similar to the noise you get when you turn the key while the car is already running. The dealer told me that it's the airbag "testing" itself, but I am not sure I buy this. Has anyone else experienced this?
Much Thanks,
Erin

It is fishy,
I met someone here not too long ago who brought down a Silversport from Texas. However, his airbag light was on and it did not make this sound. Turns out their was something wrong with the airbag and we were able to order the part and fix it ourselves with the manual (humans can accomplish amazing things).
BTW, what kind and grade of oil are you using?
I ask because I used to use Mobil 1 15W-50 and recently switched back to 5W-30 and I do not get the harsh noise I used to here upon startup.

LexMex-thanks for the input. To be honest, I have no idea what type of oil I am using (!) Whatever the dealer puts in there, but I will check and see if I need to change that.
Thanks!
Thanks!
