Default Trac vsc check engine light on

When the Check engine light with Trac and VSC light on cause the system to apply break when at highway speed? It does it even when cruise control is on but does not cause it to shut off. Feels like break is applied for just a split second.

I have not come across a definitive answer if the traction control and VSC are turned "OFF" when the check engine light is "ON".

They do come "ON" when the CEL is "ON".

I interpret them as "abnormal condition" and drive like a saint and get the problem resolved, before driving it as "normal".

I wish you best of luck, but keep in mind you are throwing parts and expecting a good outcome. If your hunch about the part in question is correct then you will get desired outcome. Keeping in mind, that if you have chosen a sub-standard part there is a possibility that you can further complicate the diagnosis. Also replace the filter-screens and associated O rings.

You can bench test the solenoids you have.

Personally I would have spent more energy/time in misfire ... plugs, coil pack. With a good #2, swap one item at time to determine what is failing.

What about timing belt, it needs to be replaced every 80-110K miles interval.
