Default RX 300 Fog Light issue

My driver side fog light works correctly ( works in low beam ), passenger side works both on high beam and low beam. Has anyone had this issue and what was the cause or fix
Thanks in advance.

Can you please share some history? Is the vehicle new to you? Any repair done to the front end?

I would suggest get hold of the electrical diagram and voltmeter and start tracing.

The car is a 2002 RX300 AWD and has 253,500 miles. I've had the car since 2010 and gave it to my daughter 6 years ago. She is in Europe for a few months so I have been fixing all the engine light problems. The engine light for the bulb out was on so I started tracking down all the burned out bulbs and noticed the fog light issue. When the headlights are on bright the passenger fog light stays on but the driver side is out. When the low beams are on both fog lights are on. I will try to find a wiring diagram on-line but thought someone had this issue and could steer me in the right direction.

The fogs should turn off when high beams are turned on.You want light source to be pointing lower to reduce reflection from the fog. That function is correct.

One fog light on and one light off is odd. you should get them both ON or both OFF. If they are acting differently then there is a wiring issue.

Parking lights are different altogether and they have a unique left/right combination when it comes to european requirements as the vehicles are parked on the street.

In any case what you are experiencing seem pretty unique

Somebody reported a weird problem like this once here and it turned out somebody had swapped the wires for a headlight and a fog light.

Fog lights and low beams are both 9006. High beam is 9005. They all look the same
