I just ordered one. I always wanted a spare but the factory one was way to big ruined the trunk space, from what I could see. I also considered getting a front rim off EBay and making a full size spare but just was not that excited about that option.

This looks perfect. Thanks for the link.

do the oem spare tire setup found in other countries, it gives you a full size oem setup and you wont need a tow

not only no spare tire but if you tow to a shop, esp a non-performance tire shop, it's not likely they'll have the oem tire or your size in stock if it can't be repaired. when i took the drive to Fday from norcal to arizona, i didn't carry a spare wheel w/ tire but carried a spare front and rear tire with me so if i broke down, i can at least have a flatbed tow me to a shop to put a tire on and i'd be back on the road....prob with a scratched up wheel but i'd be on the road. lol.

I believe, middle east spec RCFs (and all of the cars in general), have a spare tire. Even LFA was shipped with a spare tire.

Has anybody in the US bought the OEM spare tire set up from another country? Figure it’d be nice to get that and swap between the setups for road trips. I’ve blown a tire once 3 hours into a 5 hour drive and it was absolutely brutal

What brand tires were you running?
I went on a 8hr trip with no spare
Made sure I replaced my tires before the trip

Ya we do have spare although mine is US spec, but from experience it is extremely difficult to open the lug nuts in our hot weather especially when they're tightened with an impact wrench the easiest way is to call for a tow recovery to tyre shops and sport summer tyres are available here widely. I've been on Pirellis since my 2IS and the 330i and the Rcfi I just replace them every 35-40k km never had issues.

Tires were actually super fresh. Probably just like 500 miles on them. Michilin Pilot Sport 4S. Just hit a pothole going 80 and it blew. Freak accident but would love to have a backup so I don’t need to get towed an hour to the nearest town again lol

I bought a spare on Amazon and it fits nicely under the mat where the spare tire should be. It wasnt cheap though! I think it cost about $500.
