Higher mileage purchase decision brainstorm
Link below, sorry it is so long. It's a 2015 RCF with 140,000. Not sure what the seller is in on the car, but it should be priced lower and I have a strange feeling not too many people want to buy it, but I'm not that afraid of high mileage lexus having had a high SC430 and LS400. But, this is a beast of a car, for you owners out there how would you feel about it? Would you say no way and pay 39,000 for a sub 50,000 mile version? I would only consider this if I could knock off a couple thousand, then use the savings to keep it going if something goes wrong (I have a great small town toyota mechanic that is a genius and very inexpensive I can take it to). Any strong thoughts? BTW I'm going to put daily driver miles on whatever car I get next.

Absolutely love mine. Had it for 3.5 years. Only have 11,000 miles on mine. Still has the brand new car smell in it. I don't drive it in the winters and only weekends here and there. Do small mods here and there and enjoy the experience. That is about it.
150K miles RCF is probably the first. Not sure what to say about it. My Lexus RX has 110K miles on it and runs flawlessly. However, high-performance cars are different. Depending on the driver, they go through a lot more abuse and hard driven miles so the miles won't compare to my RX or your LS or SC. You might have to get a full inspection on it.

It seems to be serviced on a regular basis. I also noticed there was damage to the front end. I think I would look for a RCF with lower mileage. For a little more money you can get a lower mileage car.
There are ISFs that are past 200k miles even one at 300k running strong. I think if the maintenance was done and no severe accident it should be okay to run. Maybe just look for electrical gremlins like the nav restarting, active wing problems, fuel pump, etc.
But for your hard earned money....I’d wait for something around 50k miles at $38-35k.

I agree, if you are going to buy a car like this, might as well be patient and wait for the right one to come along. It took me 10+ months of casually looking at RCFs until I eventually came across the one where it was irresistible since everything was lining up well (other than dishing out $5000 more than what I had budgeted for, but I saved on sales tax because of private sale so it evened out)
According to carfax report, 2nd owner drove 61,xxx miles per year. That's more than typical daily driving 12k-15k miles/year. Are you planning to do the same or more?
Regardless of service maintenance, you also have to think about interior wear/tear. pictures look ok but i'm sure leather will show some signs. Better question to OP is what is your budget? Is $25k-$27k your top budget or can you swing upper $30k to low-$40k for low mileage RCF? If you can afford it, i'd definitely go with a lower mileage car if you can find it.
