Going for a drive/wash and back to confinement
@vbb Today as the temperatures have gone up a lot and up to 17 - 18 C (around 65F), I took the RCF out for a long base line drive as I am getting my Pilot Sport 4S tomorrow. I took it on a long loop with all kinds of driving scenarios, some windy bits, long highway drive, some city traffic/smaller roads etc. to really program my mind with how these tires feel so that I can feel the difference tomorrow with the PS4S.
Most importantly, as the temperature went up significantly and the asphalt has warmed up, I would take back the whole "very harsh" comment back. Suspension is all the same, but the PSS tires in +10 C warmer temperatures softened up considerably. No longer did it feel teeth chattering. It was firm/stiff, but not the harsh feeling as I stated above. It was really the temperature that made the ride quality jarring as high performance tire compound tends to get harder as temperatures drop so the inner/outer sidewalls will stiffen up. I had driven when I created this thread in 5 C (41 F) so that explains why I was surprised as to why it feel so bumpy with head bobbling. Today, it drove like I remembered it.
Tomorrow I get my PS4S tires so I will see what the initial impressions are especially considering they are extra load sidewalls. Just thought I would clarify what I had said earlier.

...That said, I pretty quickly decided to purchase a "beater" 4Runner to handle winter driving duties. I didn't want to switch to winter or all-season tires every year. So now, my 4Runner acts as my daily in the "cold" (again, relative) and in the wet, and my RCF is my daily in the warm and dry. Given that I only drive about 8k miles a year as it is (and much less during this period of quarantine and isolation) I don't have a need to switch tires to match the season.
I have been known to break out of stay at home to have Atilla fun while the roads are emptying
Making all kinds of new friends with like minded souls
Looks great!
I still have not had a chance to go play with the PS4S yet because of the busy schedule and confinement. Hopefully, I will get out on the weekend.
