If it means anything, all 4 of the Lexus in my family's garage show the entire plate.
what models do you have? My is250 doesn't show any of the bumper and plate. The whole point of the reverse camera is capturing the road and not majority of the plate and bumper
edit: the is250 also shows the plate. Just noticed it now after 1.5 yrs
Mine doesn't show the plate at all...weird. Maybe your camera needs some slight adjustment. I'd take in to service if it's that bad. Post up a pic so we can give you a better answer. The backup camera on our GX doesn't show the plate either.
Never once noticed this. The Lexus backup camera is leaps and bounds better than what I have in the Porsches and the 458 doesn't have one. Lol, you would be terribly unhappy in an exotic car if stuff like this is so annoying. Wife and I were discussing today how much better all of the technology is in a Alexus compared to Porsche, Mercedes and BMW.
I don't see the plate in my reverse camera, however I do see the edge of the bumper which I actually like. It gives me a guide as to how close I can back-in before actually hitting something.
Now does this look normal for a luxury car?? It looks like a two year old mounted the camera. It shows majority of my plate. How can anyone's Rcf be any different. The service manager pulled up a brand new 2016 Rcf and mounted my tag on it and it also showed the whole plate
The backup camera is firmly fixed not adjustable.
yup it was the first thing I noticed when I bought the car, , I thought it was a bit odd.
Then I found the hack that allows you access to the diagnostic screen which has a camera view adjustment. I was able to adjust most of the plate out of the picture and tilt the image up, however any more requires a mechanical adjustment.
let me find that thread about the diagnostic mode for you.

it's a bit of a pain to get into, but once in, there is a section that allows for minimal camera adjustments.
That's what a car forum is all about, Nice find mjeds! I just checked mine & i can also see a part of the lic. plate also, but i guess it's never bothered me before so i'll just leave her be. I would think that if you adjust it up more to get the lic. plate out of the pic that it's also going to make your view closest to the rear of the car out of the camera. Seems like you'll be able to see a lil' further/higher up, but the view is not going to pick up what is right behind your back bumper like it does now. If that any makes sense!
