Radar Cruise/Pre Collision at $500 is totally worth it. It was a $2000+ option on my old IS.

@finny76: It automatically adjusts your speed to match the car in front of you. It is not standard equipment.

To clear things up, the $500 radar cruise/PCS is a FACTORY option. All others are either port or dealer installed. And you forgot to add the trunk liner and cargo net. Lexus offers 2 'option packages', and most cars come with either one. First is wheel locks, cargo net, and trunk mat. And second adds the crappy 'rear bumper applique'. My car came with the second, and I also immediately removed that ugly rear bumper appliqué. Never needed one, so wasted money. And same with the cargo net. I'd only get the trunk mat and wheel locks.

The PCS can be very dangerous in several situations, most importantly if passing aggressively on 2-lane highways, or taking a right-hand curve also in a 2-lane highway with an oncoming car. Easiest way to disable it is with sport+ expert mode. Or just turn it off with the on/off switch under the dash. Finally, radar cruise is in ADDITION to regular cruise, not instead of. My only gripe with it is it doesn't seem to have the ability to change following distances once engaged. At least didn't see that in the owner's manual, but haven't had a chance to fool around with it and find out for sure. The only thing I'd have liked is for it to have the ability to stop and take off, which would be awesome for heavy traffic. Instead, it supposedly disengages around 20 mph.

Dynamic radar cruise control vehicle to vehicle distance control can be changed while at speed. I have not tried to change it while its within the control distance doing its thing but have changed it when the distance between is greater than the control distance.

I opted out of radar cruise control, I prefer to drive the car myself rather than car driving me, I guess I am old-school in that respect.

Just FYI, i don't have the door edge guards but saw that they are available for about $64.

Also, I bought OEM illuminated sills for $252 and my local auto accessory shop installed them for free when I had them do PPF on the car.

I am with you on this. I had an ES loaner a short time ago with dynamic cruise and lane change assist. I like the idea of these features, but ultimately did not like relinquishing this much control. When I test drove the RC F, I tried the radar cruise, and concluded that with all the power of the RC F, I was even less comfortable with dynamic cruise.

What i dont understand is, what is the point of Radar cruise, especially on a RC-F?
