Congratulations on the gorgeous 991! Certainly a big step up from the RCF! A guy up the street from me has a 991TTS in silver with the black roof and same wheels, and I will say that these cars have as much on road presence as anything out there! The super wide hips, huge air intakes, and led eyes blazing make this car one of the most polarizing cars out there for me and I thoroughly enjoy seeing his car often!

Everything is vastly improved from the 997. The chassis is absolutely world class. The interior is perfection. Materials, design, layout, fit and finish leave little to nothing to desire. One thing I would recommend is changing out to the sport design steering wheel. While you loose a bit of utility it is a much more comfortable and better feeling wheel. Also the sport lights that illuminate when sport mode is selected is pretty cool!

Please keep us updated on your impressions of the car as well as some more pictures after you get her home! I am curious to hear your thoughts on the turbo engine P car vs. the NA models. I assume your Vette was NA, and the RCF is of course NA. What made you choose the Turbo Porsche over the GT3 or GTS?

Once again congrats and hope you enjoy that wonderful new Porsche!

Thanks, I to feel the car is polarizing when I got home from work I walked out to shop just to look at it. My wife thinks I am crazy and says it's just a car she just does not get it. As far as the steering I actually almost did not buy this car because of steering wheel because I liked the sport wheel better. However, after 500 miles I would not take the sport wheel over the multifunction but I did order the techart paddles which are add one and gives you the best of both worlds. As far as the vette it was NA but I also has a 12' ZR1 and neither car was impressive to me mainly due to build quality. They were both fast for what they were but still a Chevy at the end of the day. When we picked up the 15' vette we did not get 20 miles from dealership and the roof was rattling so bad we had to stop and grease the mouldings before we continued home. The GTR was a similar experience super fast but still a Nissan and you just cannot beat a Porsche on any level. As for the GT3 I loved the car for what it is but it's just to raw for me. I have a son that wants to go everywhere we go so the back seat was a must which also made the GT3 not an option. The turbo is just the best for my family and so far the best car purchase I have ever made.

Had one at my last house and never used so I did not install one when we built this house.

big congrats again man, i am so happy for you! it really sounds to me it was a big step down for you to go to the rcf and now you are back to your norm

there is a reason i try to stay away from the porsche dealership!!! i always look at the nsx in my garage and think to myself that the logical upgrade would be the gt3...

Congrats man. After deciding the 2015 GTR wasn't for me (took a $30K bath myself; what a painful mistake, just like yours), was thinking about pulling the trigger on a 911 GT3, but after my buddy blew his engine on his SECOND 991 GT3 right at that time, I said no thanks to Porsche once again. Never owned one, but without a local dealership, I just can't get to pull the trigger on one. I'm done with turbo cars, so if I ever do get a Porsche (hopefully), it'd probably be a fully-loaded MANUAL GTS. Could always drive my brother's exotics (rarely do. Don't like borrowing anything, even when in my garage), so I'm not dying to buy one. But I'd like one myself, simply because I like manuals. Enjoy it buddy.

Congrats OP. Beautiful machine. The TTS is intoxicatingly fast. Enjoy in good health.

Unfortunately, with Porsche you're more than likely to pay MSRP unless you can find a left over like OP did.

I've been telling you that you need to get into a GT3. I know a few clean ones for sale.

Traded in mine last night as well. Picked up a 2016 ATS-V. Like everyone else is quickly finding out, I too, took a bath on the trade. Dealers are just not selling the RC-F as anticipated. There are several dealers around my neck of the woods that are offering the 10k cash. Good news is I've got some parts for sale that I'll be posting up soon so I can recoup *some* of the money lost. Good luck with the new Porsche, I was looking at a new-gen 911C2S, wasn't in the cards at this time.

Fortunately, it was only the GT3s that had engine problem, and it was very limited in numbers. The turbo engine has been reliable but definitely give Porsche a try. We have a couple in our family and they're fantastic cars. None of the Lexus appeals to me anymore after driving Porsches but it's really apples and oranges.

OP, congrats on your car. I'm a GT3 man myself but I can see the appeal of a Turbo.
