um, that is the area I was cutting out.. it wasn't cut out when I took the picture it was just marked..

Those would be great to replace the stupid switches for TPMS reset, and radar accident avoidance on/off switch under the dash. But the switches would have to have the specific connector for our car... plus the wiring would have to reach under the dash. So forget about that. He he. I'd settle for the coin holders to replace the 3 blanks currently present in my car. Hopefully Jmeds will buy them and report results.

jmeds?

I'm not on any jmeds.

mjeds is an amalgamation of my name.. it should be M.J.Eds, but the forum wouldn't allow me to use the periods.

Looks too thin to be a marking, and the plastic looks slightly bulged by the cut at the sides... but I take your word for it. I still never take a blade anywhere close to where it can cause damage to the visible part of a trim piece, as it's very easy to damage it. And yes, that happened a while back, and wised up since.

Sorry for the typo, but you knew I was talking about you. Let us know when you get those coin-holder blanks.

Thanks man. Glad I waited for this project, to do everything at once. Hey, if you need to remove everything again, could you please take pictures of all panels removed from the back, to see where exactly all the tabs are? That'd be greatly appreciated.

I'm not so sure I'd move the trunk release button within easy reach. It's not something I'd want to be pressing accidentally while driving. I believe it's down there with the hood release for that reason. Just my opinion

Doesn't matter if you press it while driving. Trunk will not open if the vehicle is moving, I tested that before changing anything.

I can't reach the trunk button while sitting in the driver seat in its stock location and I have to open it everyday when I drop my kid off at school so she can collect her belongings, it because very annoying having to get out of the car to pop the trunk.

And neither the lane departure warning, which I believe is the last button missing in the above car, since the option is mentioned in the manual (but nonexistent in the US).

On a semi-related subject, my car has the parking sensors. But the front ones are useless in my car... if they work (the rear does). Yesterday parked about 1/2 a foot from a wall, and the damn thing stayed silent. I wouldn't want to get any closer. Just curious if others are the same. By the way, there's no range adjustment for the front sensors, like there is for the rear, before somebody asks. Thanks.
I had the same issue. Asked my LEXUS specialist and found out that the default setting was set to 3feet, so i changed it to 5feet and now it warms me well in advance.

And that is on a US car, correct? Never saw that setting on the list of configurable settings in the manual. Maybe I missed it. Will definitely change it. That reminds me I need to order one of those iCar2 OBD-II plugs so I can change those settings myself thru Carista. Thanks for the heads up man.

Do you own an RC-F? Asked everywhere, and there's no adjustable range for the RC-F. The screen on the car is only for the rear, as you stated above. Thought you meant dealer could adjust the front on the RC-F, but that's not the case. The US RC-F does not have center front sensors, and no range adjustment. So will continue with useless front sensors then. Thanks anyway man.

I believe there is an adjustment.. I used the carista device and app, and now mine are more useful.

I don't believe it was a distance setting but rather a WIDE and NARROW setting and it was set to narrow by default.. But it was in the carista app, not an option in the vehicle settings on the Nav screen.

I will have to go look at the app again to be sure, but I know I changed something and now the fronts pick up the 2 large clay pots I park between at home (2 - 12' Queen Palm Trees in 3' round 3' high clay pots.) prior to the change the sensors did not pick up the clay pots and I cringed every time I pulled in..

It also adjusted the rear so the beam was wide as well and now I pick up the Palm at the corner of the driveway when I am going down the drive-ramp, before it wouldn't pick up the tree until I was on top of it, now it picks it up when I am a good 2' away from it.

There was also an option to have them always on while in neutral or drive that I turned on. This has since become a bit of an annoyance since it now registers the idiots behind me at red lights that feel the need to stop 3" short of my ***-end.

RMalm sent me the whole list, and only the rears had such an adjustment (which you can also adjust via the dash screen). But since you noticed a difference, there obviously is a difference somehow. Please post what you find, for others to benefit. My rear sensors are perfectly fine with the farther setting (green, I believe), which is probably the equivalent of 'wide' on the Carista. But my fronts are completely useless. Somebody posted the front sensors supposedly start beeping when the front bumper is about 2" from a flat wall, but will have to try that with a helper one of these days to determine if I can trust them in a garage parking lot, for example. For now, I just park in reverse. I'm pretty good at judging distances, but no way I can be consistent within an inch or two from a wall. Thanks man.
