Did my first long drive in my RCF yesterday when going to a SCCA regional race in W Virginia. Some 225 miles round trip with mostly expressway driving. For a car that produces almost 500hp I was pleasantly pleased with its fuel economy. It could have been a little better but my enthusiasm after the race with a few full throttle blasts put a small crimp in it
I agree, I've been pleasantly surprised myself. I'm getting the same results driving ~80 between Destin to Atlanta and down to Tampa/Orlando. I've neve used Economy Mode, I just leave it normal for the highway. I have a lot of driving coming up this week so maybe I'll see what Economy can do.
Not exactly, unfortunately. The RC-F had the worst measured performance, but with the most optimistic trip calculator, on AVERAGE it had the best numbers. Pretty good way to game this test - just way overpredict to bring up your average.
It's ok, I'm happy to lose this battle, and not surprisingly either since the big NA engine should be thirstier than the small FI competitors.
Yep, I have gotten around 26.6 on several longer trips in Economy mode. My problem is the lack of self control, followed by the occasional Sport + blast on bits of open road here and there. Otherwise, I would Imagine around 28.X also.
After 3,000 miles, here's a couple thing I noticed. The computer can say you average 17mpg for that specific tank but when I did it the old fashion way, it is always .5 to .7 less. Actual mpg coule probably be 16.4 mpg.
I'm averaging about 16 mpg with mixed highway/city driving. I drive only in Sport or Sport + and have my A'pexi throttle controller on Red or Purple all the time.
