That specific pre-production car is definitely and obviously toned down so people don't notice it.
I don't think it's toned down at all. It has the fender vent, etc. That sheetmetal should be pretty much final at this point. They don't make multiple tooling sets for the metal stampings and plastic fascias just for pre-production cars.
Guys, remember this is a mule with fake bumpers etc. The bumper is molded. It is not the real one.
It's not painted, but the shape itself is close to final (even has the little mesh insert between the tailpipes). Only real change will be the blacked out diffuser area, which you can see the parting line of where it would be. That will help reduce the visual height of the bumper in non black colors.
It looks like a is-f coupe from 2008 (If Lexus had made one). Doesn't look new at all. And its not the color's fault.
Also, really don't like the "new" wing mirrors...
YEAH THANK YOU. Finally someone agrees with me. I really don't like the new style of wing mirrors Lexus is using. They really do ruin the design of any car they're implemented to. They also look cheap with their black plastic.
The previous wing mirrors Lexus used like the ones in the 2IS were classy & very elegant.
