Strange Jerking Sensation.. Transmission?
2016 RC200t.
I was to my local Lexus Dealership for vehicle maintenance relating to a Turbo TSB, and since the weather is becoming cooler I've noticed some possible issues with my transmission.
- The transmission shifts (if that's what it is) are sometimes violently jerky. This seems to be happening now(?) because the temperature is much much cooler than the summer months. I haven't had the car very long, about 6 months.
- The transmission jerks seem to be happening when the car hasn't been running long / been setting all night. For example, yesterday morning I got in, and went down to the store which is 2 miles from my home.
- When I was accelerating to 40mph, I had the HUD display the gear shifts and when it was going from 2nd to 3rd the car jerked so violently that I thought I had hit something.
- There isn't a CEL from what I can see or strange noises from the transmission. Transmission solenoid issues? (Lexus shop told me a CEL would display if the TS is going back)

Yeah, that's not normal at all. I would scan it to see if there's any codes. However, make sure the scanner has the ability to scan for transmission codes. Most of the cheaper scanners cannot do this.
