Default Potential issues with parking sensors

Good Morning everyone!
I've just bought a Lexus RC 300h F Sport (sorry guys, Lexus only seels Hybrids in Europe).

I know the question might seem a bit dumb, but this is my first "serious" car. I've never used one with parking sensor and stuff, so here comes the question.

Everytime i put the "R" gear, the proximity sensors start to "beep" and the rate intensifies until it becomes a continuous sound, and then it stops. After those few seconds, no sound can be heard, even if I smash the car against a wall. Note that I have the rear camera.

I don't know if that is supposed to work that way or I just have some sensor being broken and makes all the system trigger for some reason.

Unfortunately the car is second hand, and the previous owner told me everything is "fine".

Note that when the rear camera is enabled, the is no image with parking sensors on the camera (I've seen some sample of this on the owner's manual).

Thank you everyone in advantage, and sorry if there are other threads on the matter and I missed them!

I have a 2017 rc200t. When I put the car in reverse, screen switches to rear camera but doesn't show parking sensors.

If I start getting close, its will start beeping and will beep faster as I get closer until it becomes a continuous sound.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for the reply! I see. It looks like I might have some broken sensor which triggers the entire alarm system. Just beeping for no reason seems a weird behavior to me.

thanks again for your help!

Are the sensors dirty? Mine gets the same annoying constant beeps if the sensors are dirty it won't go away until you clean it.

The sensors look pretty clean to me, also tried to clean them manually.

I also have to admit that it is not a constant beep. It starts slowly as soon as I put the R gear, then gets continuos, then it stops. Same pattern everytime.

But when I slowly move in D gear, there are no beeps from the front sensors (i'm actually wondering if I have them).

Note that my model doesn't have the park assist feature.

My sensors will not stop the continuous beep even if i touch whatever it is im backing up to. Maybe your sensors need re calibration?
