Default OVTune Handheld Tuner

Hey guys, I just ordered OVTune's handheld tuner for my RC300 so I'll be posting updates on my progress here, in case anyone is interested in tuning their cars

For reference, I have a 2016 RC300. Only relevant mod is a muffler delete. (all others relating to suspension or aesthetic)

OVTune recommends the stock intake so that's what I'm going with. I may get headers in the future, but I want to see if performance with stock parts (minus muffler) is good enough

They also claim that since the RC300 and RC350 use the same engine, the tune I get with the 300 will be equal to the tune with the 350 (i.e. both cars with tune will have same hp). Whether that's true or not, we'll see.

I'll also post a 0-60 and 30-60 run with stock vs tune in the future

Finally, someone that will post actual times for a tune. I'm interested in seeing what the difference is between the 350 and the 300 ...
I haven't seen it from OV or RR costumers yet ( if there are, then I've missed the post)

Can you post times for it non-tuned here first and then the results of it tuned after?

Is yours AWD or RWD and Are you getting your limiter raised to 7400 or sticking with 7200?

The 300 is AWD. I did a 0-60 run a while ago and got somewhere in the 6.3 to 6.5 range. It wasn't very accurate as I was just recording the speedo on my phone, but I'll definitely have the non-tuned up soon.

Thinking of keeping the limiter around 7200 or even down to 7000. I want to keep the reliability and I'm pretty sure a few hundred rpm won't make a huge difference in 0-60 times.

Other than that, I got the tuner today, and tried uploading my stock ecu tune to the device, but I've been having some issues (they only have options for the IS, so that may be the issue, even though the IS and RC have the same engine). I contacted OV so hopefully I can get this thing going soon.

As per OVTune's instructions, I have to connect the tuner to my stock car, upload the stock ECU, then send them the file. I guess they'll take the file and create a tune for me and send it back. Should take around 5 business days (according to them).

That is so strange because OV uses an RC car to do all there tuning for this ecu... You'd think the Rc would be an option to choose even before IS

Keep us in the loop with your findings.

Did a few runs on stock.

0-100kph got around 6.8 to 7 seconds
50-100kph got around 4.8 to 5 seconds

Seems pretty slow, so I;m definitely looking forward to that tune

Also, redline is around 6500 rpm so raising it 7200 will definitely help

Oh I should also mention that its not exactly to 100kph. I just timed it until it shifts into 3rd since I couldn't exactly figure out when I hit 100kph as the display has a 1 second refresh rate on the road speed. This (plus its actually 62mph instead now) could explain why 0-"60" times were so high
