Default Upgrading to tri-beam LED, is there coding involved?

I'm curious after purchasing the necessary left and right DRL and the trip beam assembly, is an alternative ECU needed to control the headlights? Also assuming I can find all of the parts necessary for the upgrade, is there coding involved so that they function correctly?

No insight? I thought I read someone that someone from puerto rico had done it? Does anyone know that person's board name? Maybe I could mail them and ask how difficult of a process it was?

Someone attempted to have a dealer install triple beam headlights on their NX (with standard LED headlight). Scroll to post #8. Unfortunately they were unable to do it successfully without an error message/light in the instrument cluster.

I think you might have similar results...but good luck.

That post was from 2 years ago though. I thought I read somewhere, can't find it now, that someone on the RC platform had managed to successful retrofit the lights. Thanks for the post though. I think I'll call a lexus dealer and see if they've done any retrofits like this themselves.

With the triple beams being an option on these cars, it should 100% be possible. Everything should be plug n play. But not sure what all you're actually gonna need to work. Harnsses and such that may need replacing as well.

ECUs and wiring harnesses would need to be changed, as well as DRLs as the blinker for the LED headlamps is integrated with the DRLs (like on the NX and RCF). Not an easy or cheap upgrade. I also believe you will probably need to replace (or just remove) plastic panels in engine compartment as the adjustment screws are in a different location. Definitely NOT plug-and-play.

He is correct. My RCF turn signals are in my DRLs and If you're running stock headlights you're gonna need to change a lot more than just the triple beam LEDs. Theres a guy on the 4GS forum who tried to convert his '14 GS350 F sport to the GSF '16 triple beam LEDs...Hes been working trying to find people that can make them work but to no avail...I don't think he still has them on yet and its probably been over a year now...don't quote me on that tho.
