that is literally not true at all , from 0-60 they're both about 6.5 seconds. the only civic that will be better will be the type r , and may actually beat the rc 350 in a race, honestly if the type r were to have been sold in the us when i was in the market for a new car i would of for sure test drove it , maybe bought itOriginally Posted by EZZ
Sure if you like a slow sports coupe. Kinda defeats the purpose of a sporty car when you're slower than a mid trim civic.

The is200t is around 6.9 and weighs 150 lbs lighter. Most publications have the RC at 7.2. The mid trim civic with the 1.5 turbo does it around mid 6. I agree that the civic is slow. Anything in the 6 something range is slow.Originally Posted by shadow1118

not to keep debating, but the rc200t does 0-60 in 6.5 seconds for me, 6.3 if i brake torque , I already tested this. all in sport + using paddle shifters. you just have to know how to drive. i think they're about the same, but the rc looks 200000000000x better than the regular civic, the 2.0t is plenty fast enough for street driving. no matter what you say your still comparing a civic to the freaking lexus rc, nothing you say will make the car seem bad. The rc is great in every engine option no matter , plus I'm banking these turbos will hit 300k miles easy which is insane bro if you think about it, its all about the engineering, the lexus turbo is in house built, is the honda turbo? probably not. sorry kidOriginally Posted by EZZ

also i think even from rolling from like 2nd gear the lexus rc200t will always smoke the civic (not type r)

Why is a civic even in this debate??? Lexus claims a 0-60 for the 350 in 5.6s. Your references are going to give you different numbers because of different factors, like altitude. To go back to the main topic of this thread: Go with the 200t if you don't care too much about performance and if you want better mpg. I've driven the new CTS in the 2.0l turbo engine trim and it has plenty of horsepower for the streets. I haven't driven the 2.0l turbo RC, but i'm pretty sure you will be fine with normal driving. Test drive both to find out which one you prefer.

Hahah I was just thinking the same thing....really how does any lexus of any kind from like 2000 and up compare to any civic. (Non type r/ si) Fail!!!Originally Posted by ZAM

I know there really isn't going to be anything like that for the 350 due to its high compression ratio...but was curious about this 200t.
I'd go with the 200t only becuase the engine modes /tubro upgrade would be easier and cheaper and you can get more power at the end of the day. But if your keeping it stock and want power I'd go 350Originally Posted by lexual_rc
My question is do you guys the think the 200t has a more up-gradable platform...like a subaru or something? Like it may be modded (turbo and all) to become really fast?I know there really isn't going to be anything like that for the 350 due to its high compression ratio...but was curious about this 200t.
