Rock chips
I'll go ahead and second what everyone else has said. This paint does not seem to hold up very well. I avoid big trucks like the plaque and at 5k miles I have a few rock chips that I wouldn't expect of a car of this price point, miles, and care.
I'm just leasing it but if I bought outright the only way to go these days is protective paint film. I have Xpel Ultimate on my Supra and Lambo and would definitely suggest it to anyone wanting their car to retain that fresh off the showroom floor front end.

I agree that if you drive on the highway you're more prone to get chips, but in my case the RX isn't driven as much as my previous Lexus vehicles, and especially not on the highway. So I guess that's why it bothers me more this time around.
It only has a little over 10K miles on it in 19 months, and 95% of those miles are from my wife driving it on city streets. I can only imagine what the front would look like if I was commuting 60 miles a day on the highway like I was years ago.
I take a lot of pride in the way my vehicles look so the slightest chip, swirl, scratch etc will drive someone like me crazy. Yeah I know, I have issues ..

Regular car bras should be available for the RC by now. (I see that Colgan, who has always made the best, is offering free stuff if you will let them have your car in CA for 4 days.) I used one of those while on road trips on my SC430.
I tired of the mechanics of putting it on and off, and put a clear bra on the RC as soon as it was available (I had my car on day one of sales, and it took Xpel about a month to get the templates designed). Both work well.
As for Lexus paint, I cannot believe that the thickness of paint is much of a factor when it comes to a speeding stone, and suspect that Kevin is generalizing from insufficient data.

I'm considering film on bumper though. I have it on hood/fenders.
What is this clear bra? Where can I get it? Is it just for bumper? I'm in Northern California.
Thanks....

Look for an experienced Xpel installer and talk to him or her. Don't arrange for this through the dealer because you don't know what you are getting, and surely the dealer is getting cut in for a piece of that action.
Is the dealer replacing it for you?
I feel that Lexus's 3 stage paints hold up better than the regular colors. My 15 GS350 F Sport was liquid platinum and had a good amount of small rock chips after only having 4,200 miles that year.
My RC350 F Sport is Molten Pearl and has 1,800 miles on it with and I, so far, do not have a single rock chip. I have driven on the same hwy/streets as I did with the GS.
Just a thought.
