The car has 3,560 miles on it now.
Are you saying you cruise on the highway in Sport+? It's my understanding that Sport+ reduces the transmission from 8 to 6 gears so I don't see why you would do this.

Only if you're in automatic mode but yes that would defeat the purpose.

Why cant the tires be rotated?

I don't know why tires can't be rotated - I'm just relying on what the dealer told me. Maybe someone else can enlighten us.

Because the fronts and rears (tires and wheels) are different sizes.

oh..also got a free massage (no he lol)

As far as my mpg concerns:

I spoke to the Service Consultant and she didn't seem surprised or concerned about the 15 mpg that I've been averaging. She seems to imply that is normal and the sticker mpg is under perfect circumstances (she mentioned California, Ventura highway driving).

After the car was looked at my invoice says: "tech was told by Lexus technical assistance that fuel consumption is accurate" - whatever that means.

She suggests I switch to Premium gas (which I wasn't using) and return if I want my car diagnosed further.

Meanwhile, after my massage, I checked out the sticker which showed 21 mpg combined. My feeling is - ok..so if that's under perfect circumstances, maybe I can get 20..or 19..
ok..even though I'm driving in economy mode..maybe I have a lead foot (I don't)..so 18? 17?

But 15?!!!
You definitely have to use premium gas in order to get the advertised MPG. I recently read an article how it actually comes out to be more expensive using cheaper regular gas on cars that are factory-recommended to use premium gas. The MPG goes down and once the math is worked out, the lost MPG defeats the cost savings of using the cheaper regular gas.

My car was delivered with a dealer-provided full tank of gas, which I now believe was regular 87 octane. From that tank I got about 15mpg. As suspected, once I refilled with premium gas my MPG went up to 20-21mpg and has maintained that level ever since.

Update:

After my first tank of premium gas, I got 17 mpg.
Second tank seems to be better (or am I just obsessed with driving to increase the mpg?) Working on 18 or 19.

Should I expect better gas mileage the more I use the premium gas?

U will have better performance and mpg with premium. Fill up in jersey, it's cheaper here

Also smiles per gallon > miles per gallon

Default Getting 20.5 mpg on ECO mode exclusively

I am running Medium gas exclusively and run car in only ECO mode. Am getting average of 20.5 after 695 total miles driven. Car is plenty peppy enough for mostly city driving in ECO mode, so I have not upped the driving mode yet.

Anyone think that that mileage would increase if I switched to premium fuel?

Default Miles per tank

At the end what matters the most is how many miles per tank are you getting from full to empty (0-5 miles refuel) Im averaging 285-290 miles per tank (driving in granny mode thru the city and only cruise control on highway)...which kinda sucks because I was getting 330-340 per tank on my 15 IS lol

I'm averaging around 340 miles ish per fill up. I'll double check when I fill up today. I'm trying to get it to 400

It's definitely a gas guzzler. The age of the engine and its inefficiency is probably my only disappointment with the car.
