I know I keep posting things up so quick but I get lots of free time when I only work 3 twelve hour shifts then have lots of consecutive days off. So im gonna make a custom exhaust and wanna know what everyone thinks of either leaving the stock tips or making it look similar to the RCF (Angle or straight Quad). Ive researched, looked, and measured underneath the car and after looking up videos and reading info I went with Magnaflow 2.5inch in and out straight through muffler. I bought two 2.5in single in and 2.5in single out and then I bought two 2.5in single in and 2.5 dual out (Check pictures). Not sure 100% which fits so Im gonna take both to the shop. Anyone who hasnt looked, our cars are 2.5inch pipe up until the axle, then it has a big bend and goes down to 2.25inch pipe. Im gonna cut it off at the axle and attach 2.5 to each muffler at the bumper and leave everything else as is because it already is true dual with nice long resonating straight through mid pipes. Gonna do this next week when im off again. Comment or take a vote and let me know what you think. Here are some pictures of what im thinking. Stock tips with mufflers welded, dual straight tips, or dual diagonal tips???
I'm assuming that you're going to change out the lower half of the bumper to accommodate the new exhaust like in the pic?
No, I wasnt planning to. From my measurements and holding the exhaust up to the back the quad will fit without modifications as long as the tips dont go longer than a combined 9inches in length. So I figure two 3.5in tips plus the small gap between the tips is about 7.5in leaving 0.75in on each side of the rear stock diffuser.
I like the look of the quad tips like the RCF has, but that is a personal thing. If you don't want to change the lower valance then straight quad tips would work best.
