Hey I currently use a olympus D510 Zoom and its really nice. It takes pictures at 1600x1200 and they're pretty sharp and with great contrast. That model is a little outdated now since I got it back a few years ago. Anyways if you're looking for a great camera to take pictures with I would really recommend a olympus D520 Zoom which is pretty cheap now or if you're looking to spend a little bit more I would get a olympus camedia 3040 zoom. Thats got a lot of features and also takes pretty amzing pictures. I'd shop around for that one tho because the prices vary a lot from place to place. You can probably get it pretty cheap online. The whole line for the olympus 30xx cameras are great. The 3040 I believe is the newest one right now. I'm not sure if they had a newer one come out in the last half year or not but its got a great price for what you get. I'd also get a bigger card with it though because my D510 took about 16 pictures at the highest resolution and I got a 128 meg card and it takes over 600 now. The memory cards are REALLY cheap now. You'll be really amazed with the pictures you take with the 3040 tho. I didnt really meantion any sony or nikon because they get a little too expensive but they do make pretty good cameras too. I just dont think I would spend like 500 on a sony just to get a little smaller camera. You also loose a few features and you'll be stuck with the memory stick sony makes. Anyways good luck finding a camera. I would take a trip down to circuit sity or best buy and take a look at them first and see which LCD screen is better and which is easier to use for you. Overall I think the D520 zoom is a great buy if this is a first camera and you're not looking to spend too much. The 3040 is a bit more advanced with more features and the price of course will be higher but if you're not a real hardcore camera guy and you're not really planning on printing pictures you may want to consider sticking with a 520 for now. They're both awesome cameras tho.
